Yes, you can link water butts together to maximise rain water harvesting from one downpipe. You must ensure that the water butts are level at the point where they connect. Choose from our range of water butt connectors.

No, this model does not have a suitable stand due to its weight when full. There are two tap holes available to use - one high enough to place a bucket or watering can under, and one lower down.

If you require the water butt to be raised, we would recommend making a brick or concrete plinth. Please ensure that wherever it is sited, the surface must be even and the full base of the water butt should fit on fully without any overhang as this could cause stress on the plastic and invalidate the 5 year warranty.

These models are manufactured with a hexagonal black bung in the tap hole. This is to ensure that the threaded hole and tap fit perfectly, without leaking.

To remove, use a 50p coin or a large flat-ended screw driver to twist the bung anticlockwise until you can unscrew it with your hand. Alternatively, use a spanner to undo the bung.

Once the bung is removed, simply screw in the threaded tap provided (or any other 25mm fitting), ensuring there is a washer on the tap.

The spring-loaded catch system on the side and underside of the lid releases the lid when pressure is applied. To remove the lid follow these simple steps:

  1. Locate the logo on the top, outer edge of the lid
  2. Lift the lid at this point and locate the yellow catch
  3. Push in the yellow catch to release the lid, lifting and pulling at the same time.
